Health and Wellbeing Focus - WWTP

Dance and movement can have a profound impact on health and wellbeing. For many of our WWTP they can see first-hand the impact this has on their participants, but sometimes we are the last people to think about our own health and take time to reset.

Last year we invited Dance Artist and now registered HCPC/ MBACP Integrative Arts Psychotherapist and practitioner, Cai Tomas to provide a safe space online to discuss ways to help and support individuals and to share a freelance dance practitioner’s own creative practice.

As a creative, Cai knows the challenges we push our physically and mentally.

We held 9 Creative Practice Support sessions online, and we tailored them to each individual seeking support.

We created a safe space specifically for the individual to share what they wanted to share so absolutely tailored to need. Cai created a supportive, non-judgemental, confidential space to reflect on work and life, and have dialogue together on the themes the individuals brought to the one to one sessions.

“The space and time to breathe and ground into my being before we began was not just welcome but necessary for me to really find out what needed to become through for me in my body rather than me just being in my head and the gentleness and openness with which that was held and allowed made that possible”.

“For me the real beauty and power of the sessions (the way in which Cai holds space and facilitates) is the realisation that my creative practice is so inextricably linked with daily life”.

“And to be held in understanding of this without judgement or expectation by Cai  means that it's safe for what needs to be spoken to come through and interestingly this might not be what I thought I was going to share or talk about but it's something that's much deeper than that….and that somehow the body knows what it is doing and after a session without me really doing anything it starts to align itself  so that my creative practice can then speak freely rather than being trapped by the underlying stuff that I didn't even think needed to be acknowledged!”

“I would urge anyone to seek this for themselves”

“CAI Tomos was REALLY listening to me – firing back questions to really make me think and clarify. Excellent session! I have been concentrating on a particular project which will be shown in the Spring of 2026 and Cai helped me think past that – all based on my experiences and my past. I have done many sessions like this but Cai is extremely talented with this”.
