Rubicon’s work with LATCH, the Welsh Children’s Cancer Charity, takes place on the Oncology Unit at the Children’s hospital for Wales. LATCH supports the children and their families who are being treated by the Oncology Unit. Our sessions here use fun, creativity and movement to help LATCH in these aims.

Dance on the Oncology Unit can either take place as a one-to-one session or as a small group and we can deliver a session at the bedside or in the play room. Sessions are tailor made for participants, their family members and the area or ward they are in. No two sessions are the same but they always stay true to Rubicon’s ethos: everyone can dance and should have the opportunity to dance. Our dance leaders adapt tremendously to suit the patient and their family’s needs at that moment in time, as well as dealing with practical issues such as the environment of the ward.

Rubicon would like to extend their grateful thanks to LATCH, who exclusively fund our LATCH sessions at the Oncology Unit.
