Wales Wide Training Programme
“WWTP is such a person centred and nurturing programme which has given me such a breadth of training and learning opportunities through blended delivery both online and in person. The use of repeat workshop leaders and facilitators are a strength of the programme in terms of having a deeper
understanding of individuals work and vice versa and so that they shout about WWTP to others!” WWTP attendee.“Joining the partnership felt like a natural next step after our Community Producer, Chantal Williams, delivered a session on the site-specific and community-embedded work we do, alongside a brilliant group of creatives and practitioners. This work matters, and we’re excited to keep building connections and exchanging ideas.” Chantal Williams, Community Producer. Common/Wealth.
What is the Wales Wide Training Programme (WWTP)?
Since 2013 the WWTP has supported organisations and individuals working across Wales.
WWTP supports 28 organisations and over 350 individuals working together to support training and professional development for the community dance sector across.
We run networking and workshop sessions in person and online at venues, in community hubs in rural and urban settings. We share learnings, expertise and discuss how we can support one another and the sector here in Wales.
The aim of WWTP is to:
- Increase access to high quality, up to date training
- Support specialist practice in areas identified as strategic priorities by the sector
- Meet the demand for skilled dance leaders to bring community dance to a wider audience
- Cultivate best artistic practice and encourage innovation
- Reduce professional isolation.
We now deliver over 78 sessions a year which is funded by Arts Council Wales with growing demand for people to have training opportunities both online and in person each year.
"The WWTP is a lifeline! Fabulous training which is relevant and always meets sector needs. Helps me to challenge and update my practice and provides excellent networking opportunities." - Heidi Wilson, Senior Lecturer, Cardiff Metropolitan University

You shape our dance community:
WWTP is here to support the dance community in Wales. Our Network Meetings Group and one to one sessions (if practitioners are new to WWTP) are available in a safe and nurturing space and chance to share how you would like to shape the WWTP and what the needs are of the dance community in Wales.
Here's what our Dance Community has said so far about WWTP:
“This training day was rich in practice and creative insights which I will be able to draw on for my own professional practice and work not just with people with PIMD but for my collaborative creative work as well.” WWTP attendee.
