After the hardship of COVID, we aim to bring our audiences back to the theatre, enabling you to immerse yourself in the aspiring artistry of young dancers in Wales. Hungry for success and eager to share our creativity, we long for an opportunity to experience dance on stage again. We need your help to fundraise towards our production costs. We are currently fundraising to cover our production costs with a sponsored walk to Castell Coch which will take place on April 26th 2022

‘Perceptions 2022’, at the Dolman Theatre, Newport on 26th May 2022 will provide an oportunity to present an energetic and vibrant performance showcasing a wide variety of dance styles. Through a selection of our student solos to ensemble works, the versatility of our creativity will be the first live performance since the summer of 2019.

The show will combine elements of dance for camera, social dance, and dance theatre.

Rubicon welcomes back Emmy award winning choreographer Terry Beck (USA), to work in collaboration with the second-year students on a production based on mining culture in Wales. Sian Rowlands a local Welsh based artist is also devising a newly commissioned piece for the first-year students based on Greek mythology. You can also enjoy excerpts from the timeless jazz classic ‘Sweet Charity’ re-staged by Paul Davies, along with other performance works.
Our fundraising initiative will provide much need additional funding to the box office returns. Rubicon in imaginative and creative ways, aims to nurture and curate exceptional and memorable dance, wherever it may be. We would love the chance to taste of an exceptional and memorable performance platform for you.
