This fun, creative and energetic class focuses on developing children’s ability to work creatively with others whilst building their core movement skills. Rather than focus on a particular dance style, this class aims to grow children’s ability to be creative and confident dancers. Our highly experienced dance leaders use a wide variety of music, props and creative tasks to build a positive and friendly atmosphere, encouraging the dancers to participate in the group, develop creativity and build skills together. We also enjoy sharing the dances we create with our friends and families in relaxed performances once or twice a year.

We have three different Creative Dance sessions which allow dancers to progress through classes as they get older.

Toddlers Creative Dance, 3–4 years

This session is where children get used to dancing independently. We invite any children who need a little extra encouragement to have their grownup dancing along with them and to progress to dancing independently in their own time. We ask any grown-ups who are staying in the class with their child to join in and dance alongside us rather than sit and watch. Once a child is happy to dance on their own, their grown-ups are welcome to sit in the waiting area.

Infants Creative Dance, 5–7 years & Junior Creative Dance, 8–12 years

Children in these sessions dance independently and their grown-ups are welcome to sit in the waiting area.

All creative Dance sessions are open classes. Sessions run during term time and can be pay as you go. New dancers are welcome to get in touch with any questions or for more information before coming along.
