In June 2019, Rubicon held a week long danceathon encouraging our participants from all our classes to take part and raise money towards our Renovating Roath Library Project. Dancers took part in the danceathon during their weekly classes with many choosing to dance in fancy dress or pyjamas.

One class who particularly enjoyed taking part and dressing up were Lucy’s Saturday morning ballet classes. They chose to come to class dressed as Princesses and loved it when they saw their teacher Lucy dressed as Anna from Disney’s Frozen! The junior ballet class also opted for fancy dress and looked fantastic in their costumes.

This danceathon captured a real sense of community spirit with participants from all our classes of all ages taking part, from as young as toddlers right up to our Over 60’s classes and everyone had so much fun!

The grand total of money raised at this fundraising event was £2,760.70. A huge thank you to all those who took part and donated to our project. All funds raised from this event will go directly towards renovating Roath Library into an additional home for Rubicon.

The highest fundraisers for this event were sisters Freya and Farrah who attend Rubicon on a Saturday morning for classes. The girls raised £160! Well done girls and a big thank you from us all!

A big thank you and well done to our dancers in our Stow Park Session where 60% of the class participants took part in the fundraising, the highest percentage for participation in this event from right across our programme! Well done!
